Initiatives

Texas Jazz Society is steadfast in its commitment to supporting talented musicians and sharing jazz with the next generation of great performers and to those who have loved the music for decades

EDUCATION AND SUPPORT
Texas Jazz Society hosts educational performance opportunities for youth from area schools to experience professional musicianship in a live music venue, as well as masterclasses for musicians at all levels.

We offer local high school jazz programs an opportunity to attend clinics and workshops. They also have the opportunity to perform at a world class venue in front of their family and friends. All ticket sales go directly back to their respective programs.

TONY AND JUNE PROJECT
The Tony and June Project is a special program we have been providing at no cost to Central Texas nursing homes, assisted living centers, and retirement communities since 2013.

Texas Jazz Society works with talented professional jazz musicians to arrange onsite performances and social visits to entertain elderly audiences and oftentimes stir up memories through the music.

The Tony and June Project is a two-part project that we have been providing at no cost to community nursing homes, assisted living centers, and retirement communities since 2013. The first half of the visit consists of a jazz ensemble performing for 45 minutes to an hour. For the second half of the visit, each of the musicians sits down and visits with a resident for 45 minutes to an hour. The music inevitably stirs up some memories, and the musicians have found that the conversations are the most rewarding part for them every time.
